Kingley Vale — Viking Ghost Forest Collection
Where the Dead Still Stand
Collection Overview: The Kingley Vale Viking Ghost Collection features premium unisex t-shirts, heavy crewneck sweatshirts, ceramic accent mugs and matte canvas prints inspired by dark British folklore and the historic Anglo-Saxon shield wall battle of AD 849.
Deep in the South Downs, where the ancient yew trees of Kingley Vale have stood for over two thousand years, the ghosts of Viking warriors are said to walk still. In AD 894, a Danish war party was cornered and destroyed by the men of Chichester — Alfred the Great's fyrd — in the valley beneath Bow Hill. The dead were buried where they fell, beneath the roots of trees that still stand today, their bark weeping red sap in late summer like blood rising through the heartwood.
The Legend in Every Thread
This collection is inspired by that landscape and that legend — the shield wall that held, the warriors who never left, and the ancient grove that remembers everything. Each piece carries the atmosphere of Kingley Vale: the mist between the yews, the ghostly figures standing shoulder to shoulder, the silence of the Birdless Grove.
